Benjamin Ziegler, CT
Hi everyone! My name is Ben (he/him) and I am a Counselor Trainee completing my Masters of Mental Health Counseling at Cleveland State University. I’ve had a unique life journey that has brought me to where I am today and provided me with a range of opportunities and learning experiences that have shaped my worldview. My driving force behind this journey has always been a passion for helping others.
My approach to counseling draws from queer, feminist, and existential theories which also reflects my own personal worldview. I work to help create a space where clients feel safe, affirmed, and supported. From that space, I help clients build empowering relationships with themselves and others by exploring societal norms and expectations and grow in understanding and authenticity with themselves. I am particularly interested in exploring the intersection of sex and spirituality as these areas of life can seemingly collide. I work with clients to explore these experiences with curiosity and compassion.
Sex is often a topic due to historical, cultural, and religious standards that brings up shame and discomfort for people. Finding sexual freedom can be a liberating experience available for all people.
In my free time, I enjoy running, playing the piano and organ, singing, spending time outside, and my insatiable passion for quality coffee! But best of all, I enjoy spending time with the people I care about in any capacity.
